Highwoods is ideal for a romantic getaway, a family reunion, or a tranquil retreat for groups up to eight (or even ten with arrangements).
This unique mountain cabin is nestled on the side of a mountain. It is situated on ten acres, about half of which is landscaped in a garden setting with three small ponds fed by an underground mountain spring and our very own hand-carved totem pole. The balance has been left in its natural state.
You are ideally located for day trips to all of the many things to do in Asheville and most everything else that Western North Carolina offers to visitors. We are only 14 miles from Asheville (about a 20-minute drive). Add another 5 minutes to get to the Biltmore Estate or the Blue Ridge Parkway.
Highwoods land protects the watershed for the extensive valleys below. You are surrounded by thousands of acres of magnificent wilderness, open fields and farmland where people smile and raise their hand to say hello as they pass, and are always there to lend a hand or tell you a good story. If you like to hike, bike or take late afternoon strolls, the quiet roads and off-road trails will give you endless miles of choices.
When you return to Highwoods at the end of the day, you arrive in another world. You are taken away by the sound of water falling, and the beauty and power of nature. Many people who have experienced the profound sense of peace consider it a spiritual event.
Curl up in front of the wood burning fireplace, sit on the deck with a good book, unwind in the hot tub; whatever your choice, treat yourself to the perfect escape. For your more intimate moments you can snuggle up close to the mountain behind while soaking your stress away in the spa.
The house is located at the top of our road and has “THE VIEW that people come to the mountains for”. Those glorious Blue Ridge Mountain views are enjoyed from most every room in the house, from the master bedroom’s luxurious king-size bed as well as from the kitchen sink – and especially the expansive deck.
The art and decor at Highwoods Cabin has been collected from around the world, which we think you will find both interesting and inviting. At Highwoods Gardens the house and cottage are less than six years old and were newly furnished in 2013. With unique architecture and upscale accommodations, Highwoods Gardens has been designed to exceed what any traveler would expect in a mountain retreat.
